Tips¶
Mastering the Magician Life is a big achievement, but the achievements don’t end here.
First thing, don’t hesitate to drop your buddies until you’ve completed the Triple Shooting Star Challenge. There’s nothing worse than building up your special skill gauge, only for an ally to finish the monster(s) before your star hits them.
Next, Lovely Jellings and Metal Jellings don’t always appear, so re-enter the area if you can’t find them. Lovelies spawn near the middle of Cacto Cove, while Metals spawn in the sandy path along the central route, on the way to the Gigante.
Big Spook is usually haunting the most south-east or south-west corners, along with Vampire Bats and Mummies. It’s not hard, but the trip back might be because of the Desert Tyrant guarding the entrance to the Ancient Ruins.
Finally, the Lightning Wraith will probably be the strongest monster you’ll have faced. Pack a lot of Hi-SP Potions or better and bring two dependable decoys.
The Lightning Wraith looks and fights totally differently to other wraiths, which may throw you off at first. Also be warned that Light Magic (Shooting Star or Yuelia’s spells) does zero damage to the Lightning Wraith.
The wraith’s main attack involves it charging up power, then dashing forward, becoming briefly invulnerable. This attack is easy to predict, so get ready to move when you hear the charge.
On occasions, the wraith may move forward and slap you with its wings, three times in succession. If you keep your distance (as you should), you should be safe from danger.
Once the wraith goes below half HP, instead of dashing after charging up, it may unleash a volley of air slashes forwards. At this stage, assume it will always do this move when it charges up and try to move to its side.
Your best time to attack is immediately after a dash attack or when the bird is busy slapping your allies or using its volley attack. The Lightning Wraith moves a lot more than a regular wraith, so don’t be disheartened if you can’t get many good hits in.
