Knowledge is power, as they say, and power corrupts - a conundrum that leads countless into the dark sway of Chaos. It you want to earn the Purge Them ll achievement, you’ll need to take the risk inherent in acquiring knowledge by tagging every enemy type in the game. This sounds like a fairly straight-forward task, and it largely is, but full completion is complicated by various factors, including some variants counting and others not, some bosses needed to be marked twice and, of course, no in-game tracking whatsoever. This page will help you find all of the roughly two-dozen enemies you need to mark to obtain the Purge Them All achievement in Space Marine 2.

Marking Enemies in Space Marine 2¶
Marking enemies is simple enough in Space Marine 2 - get close enough to a foe, aim at it, and press the [up] button. This can be finicky, especially if you’re dealing with groups of enemies, and the same button is also used to indicate locations, so there will likely be numerous mistakes made where you’ll end up spamming bogus location targets. That being the case, you might not want to do this in online play with randos, as it can be kind of annoying to spam alerts. That said, marking enemies not only counts in both Campaign mode and Operations mode, but there are enemies exclusive to each that must be marked, so you’ll need to do both - expect to complete at least half a dozen missions to mark everything, assuming there are no mistakes or missed opportunities.
Purge Them All - Tyranid Enemies¶
Tyranids are the first enemy type you’ll encounter in the campaign, and you’ll encounter pretty much every minoris/majoris variant by the end of Mission 2: Severance, including: Hormagaunts, Termagants and all five Tyranid Warrior variants. You’ll also likely encounter extremis-tier enemies like the Ravener, Zoanthrope and the Lictor, some of which are guaranteed encounters on the first two missions. You will encounter a Carnifex on Mission 3: Machinus Divinitus and Mission 5: Voidsong, while a Neurothrope can also be encountered on Operations 1, 2, 3 and 6 on Substantial or Ruthless threat levels, although which one will spawn is random. This pretty much just leaves the Hive Tyrant, which can only be encountered during Operation 2: Decapitation, where it appears as a proper boss.
Honestly the Tyranids aren’t too hard to mark, Hive Tyrant aside, the only tricky part is that there are five Tyranid Warrior variants, two melee and three ranged. Be diligent about marking each one you come across and with a bit of attention you should be able to tell what their weapon types are at a glance.

Purge Them All - Chaos Enemies¶
The sons of Magnus, servants of Tzeentch, form the game’s second faction, and they will not start appearing until the latter half of Mission 4: Servant of the Machine. While there are fewer of these foes than Tyranid variants, Chaos enemies are nonetheless harder to mark due to their scarcity and how similar many of them look to each other. It’s hard to tell the standard Cultist apart from a Cultist with Long-Las until the latter starts aiming, at which point you’ll see a blue targeting line. Be careful when dealing with Cultists, however, as they’re awfully squishy - running or dodging into them is sufficient to smush them! Tzangors, the jackal-bird demons that infest the ranks of Tzeentch, are all one category, shielded or not.
Once you ascend past the minoris ranks, things get more complicated… mostly because half the Thousand Sons list are some form of space marine. The Rubric Marine with Warpflamer shouldn’t be too hard to spot due to the… you know, flames, and the two Terminator variants are noticeably larger (plus if you see a chaos space marine and the top of the screen says there’s an “Extremis” threat around, it’s a Terminator) and the Lesser Sorcerer flies around. Still, it’s a lot of enemies that look awfully similar that you’ll have to sift through, and their ability to teleport and their ranged weaponry can make it more bothersome to get close enough to mark them.
Finally, we have the bosses. You will encounter two Helbrutes during the campaign, one on Mission 6: Dawn’s Descent and another during Mission 7: Bellum Sempiternus. Since you can’t just replay Mission 7 without replaying all of Mission 6, the Helbrute at the end of Mission 6 is your best bet. The Heldrake only spawns during Operation 4: Reliquary, as the boss at the end of the mission, and it can be somewhat tricky to mark as it’s a bit far away - get to the edge of the arena closest to it and you should succeed eventually.
Imurah is where most players will get hung up, as you have to mark him twice, during each boss encounter. You will first encounter him at the end of Mission 5: Voidsong, and again at the end of Mission 7: Bellum Sempiternus. To be safe, try to mark him when he’s on his disc and when he’s not.
