Tyranids are enough trouble on their own, but when the traitor legions intervene, the situation on Avarax goes from bad to worse. Seeing no other alternative, Acheran permits Titus to attempt to send a vox message seeking reinforcements, and while this is happening secondary squads will need to decapitate the Hive Tyrant leading the Tyranid swarm and find out what is jamming communications so Titus’ message can be sent. As always, no matter how dire the situation, there’s always Dataslate collectibles to be found. This page will help you find all the Dataslates in the first Operations mode mission, Vox Liberatis in Space Marine 2.

Vox Liberatis Dataslates¶
One of the rare missions in the game featuring both Tyranids and Thousand Sons, the first half of the mission will see you squaring off against the former. Advance through the mission, squashing bugs as you go, and after riding an elevator up (where you’ll spot the forces of Chaos in the distance, safe behind a barrier) be sure to go down a ramp and up some stairs to find a side-building where the first Dataslate is located. It’s easy to drop off a ledge and miss this one if you’re not observant.
After the first Dataslate you’ll effectively be done with Tyranids on this mission. Advance until you find a Chaos altars (one of six such holdout objectives in this mission!) and eventually you’ll be tasked with slogging through the city towards a cathedral, heretics hindering your advance all the way. Inside the cathedral you’ll need to descend a large lift, and once it lands you’ll need to search the chamber you arrive in to find the second Dataslate. Make sure you have it before going through some doors towards another Chaos altar - fortunately not a holdout objective, just a device you need to destroy to reach the final stretch of the mission.
Missing the first Dataslate isn’t much of an issue, as it’s near the beginning of the mission and not much bother to replay. The second one, however, is a much bigger time sink.
Following the campaign mission “Servant of the Machine”, Titus will lay down the objectives for the next campaign mission and two operations - in Vox Liberatis, you’ll be tasked with unjamming vox communications.
Interestingly enough, this mission ends with you facing off against a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch (aka, Lord of Change), which serves as an environmental hazard in this fight rather than as a proper boss. This daemon’s appearance here occurs earlier than when Titus and his squad encounter it during the campaign mission [Dawn’s Descent].
Dataslate 01: Creation of Daemonhost, I¶
From the landing pad, use a terminal to open some doors and enter the facility beyond, fight through some Tyranids, exit outside after working your way through the building, assist (or ignore) some Cadians fighting some more Tyranids, then enter another facility. Ride an elevator and as it ascends you’ll notice that the Thousand Sons are here, as well, shielded from the Tyranids. This will change the objective to “Find a Way to Take Down the Warp Shielding”.
Exit the elevator, cross a bridge, head down a ramp to the right, then turn left and go up some stairs. After ascending one flight of stairs, turn left and enter a building, then search the corner to the right to find this Dataslate on some crates.
After exiting the elevator and descending the first metal ramp you’ll need to head downhill through some ruins, eventually dropping off a ledge - this ledge will prevent you from getting the Dataslate, if you miss it, but it’s fairly early into the mission, so it shouldn’t be a big hassle to run through again if you need to.

Dataslate 02: Creation of Daemonhost, II¶
Grab the first Dataslate and press on until you first encounter Chaos forces, at which point the objective will change to “Capture and Destroy the Chaos Altar”. You’ve got to stand in an objective circle near an altar, which will cause the bone barrier around the altar to lower, eventually allowing you to destroy said altar. Naturally enemies will endlessly spawn during this process, so it’s another holdout objective with a slight twist. Destroy the altar, then advance until you find a door you need to use a terminal to open, just past a weapon loadout pod.
Exit outside and eventually you’ll need to destroy another Chaos altar - this functions identically to the previous one. Once accomplished the objective will change to “Advance to the Cathedral” and you’ll need to ride an elevator down. Fight your way through the city and you’ll eventually reach the cathedral, at which point your objective will change to “Navigate to the Lower Levels of the Cathedral”, which effectively means “use a terminal to ride a large lift down and kill any Thousand Sons who spawn as you descend. There’s an Ammo Cache on this lift, which is important for keeping yourself stocked up during the descent, and also for finding the next Dataslate.

When the lift arrives, head up to the Ammo Cache and from this wondrously infinite stockpile of ammo, turn left and search the edge of the chamber to find this Dataslate, which is resting on some machinery. If you advance through some doors towards another Chaos altar, the aforementioned doors will close and you’ll miss the second Dataslate, and since this Dataslate is right before the final objective (surprise! More Chaos altars!), it can be a bit of a chore if you have to replay this mission..
