Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

Bellum Sempiternus Mission Dataslates Space Marine 2

By
Nathan Garvin

It may be the final mission of the game’s campaign, but don’t let the high stakes distract you from what’s really important: Dataslates! The campaigns final three Dataslates can be found on Mission 07: Bellum Sempiternus (latin translation: The Eternal War), and once you’ve got these you’ll be up to twenty three Dataslate for the campaign! This page will provide the locations of all three Dataslates in Bellum Sempiternus in Space Marine 2.

Page Breakdown

Bellum Sempiternus Dataslates

After the incredibly lengthy preceding mission [Dawn’s Descent] you’ll find yourself punted into the next mission without the customary trip back to the Battle Barge. It’s not hard to determine when the missions transition, however, as you’ll end Dawn’s Descent with a boss battle against a [Helbrute] and you’ll begin this mission after some scenes following the aforementioned boss battle. There is one complication to this mission, however - you cannot start directly from this mission via the terminal in the Launch Bay. If you miss any of this mission’s three Dataslates, you’ll have to replay Dawn’s Descent all over again, then however much of this mission you need to in order to find the overlooked Dataslate. Great incentive to, you know, use a guide on this one.

Dataslate 01: Effects of Warp Exposure

When this mission starts you’ll need to advance through the shattered landscape, past a battalion of warp-addled Cadians. To advance, drop down a pit and turn left, and when you reach a four-way intersection turn right. At a second intersection, keep going ahead to find a short dead-end branch with a cowering Cadian in it. The Dataslate is on the floor near the Cadian.

Dataslate 02: Burial, Adeptus Astartes, Salamander Chapter

Advance through the level until you get the objective “Advance to the Second Force”, which tasks you with reinforcing a beleaguered company of Ultramarines. After this proceed until you reach a chamber where you need to assemble with your squad - a Multi-Melta and an Ammo Cache, among other boons, awaits you here. Activate a terminal to open the door to reach a large circular chamber occupied by Thousand Sons marines (including a Sorcerer!) and a mob of Tzangors. Purge the heretics, exit the chamber via some newly opened-doors then go down some stairs to reach a sarcophagus.

This Dataslate is up some stairs beyond the sarcophagus. Once up the stairs turn left and search an altar to find the Dataslate resting atop it.

Dataslate 03: Amount of Deceased on Demerium

Exit the tomb where you found the second Dataslate and you’ll start the objective “Raise the Banner”. Endure the scripted holdout segment until the Calgarvalry arrives, after which you’ll be tasked with rotating some “Control Units” to thwart the MacGuffin that’s threatening you. After this the objective “Advance to the Obelisk” will begin. Use a terminal to open some doors, defeat some Thousand Sons, then pass through an archway formed by warp crystals and purge the Tzangors beyond. Beyond them you’ll exit back outside and go up some stairs and through a second warp crystal doorway.

You’ll know you’re in the right spot because the secondary squad will complete their objectives, prompting some chatter between Titus and Straban. In the ruins beyond this second warp crystal doorway you’ll find a more conventional gate ahead of you, portcullis raised, and if that’s not inviting enough, there’s a Thunderhammer to the left. The Dataslate is also here, but somewhat more well-hidden - go around some rubble to the right and you’ll find this Dataslate, the final one in the campaign, on the ground near the corpse of a Tech-Priest. Oddly fitting.
