You can actually visit this area earlier in the game, but it’s more useful to come back when you have Lapras Paddle. First, make your way to Melemele Meadow. If you’re on Route 1, you can get there by traveling north to Route 3. As usual, Tauros can get you there faster.
Once inside the meadows, this is the tricky bit. From the entrance, head directly south-west, towards the south-most part of the meadows. If necessary, apply some Repels to ward off the low level Pokemon. Look carefully along the wall to the west.
It’s hard to see during night time, but should be fairly obvious during the day. About halfway up, there’s a gap in the wall that you can crawl through using the A button. Beyond is the Seaward Cave itself.
Inside, grab the Escape Rope just above the entrance. Next, pensively make your way south-west. After it comes into view, follow the path going west. Pick up the Heal Ball by the rock mound, then approach the water’s edge.
Summon Lapras and paddle south to the opposite side. Slowly head south, making sure to retrieve the Max Revive to the east, before leaping over the ledge below. Continue south-east, over the next ledge. Next, follow the path east as it slowly slopes down.
When the path branches, head south-east first, down the slope. The path will branch a second time. Follow the path going east to find a Never-Melt Ice waiting at the end. Head back and follow the path leading south. In the corner is a Super Potion that you should pick up.
From here, carry on south-east. At the next branch, head south towards a dead end. Search the rock at the end to discover a hidden Star Piece . Now retrace your steps so you’re back at the initial path branch, along the descending slope.
Now follow the slope north. At the end, hop over the ledge to the right, then the next one. Here, summon Tauros and smash through the rocks to the north. Hiding at the end is an Expert Belt . Go back and leap over the third ledge, then the fourth… and the fifth. Below is the exit.
