*** indicates Alolan form.**
Your destination is Paniola Town, which is to the far north-east. Immediately east from the route sign is a patch of tall grass and, further ahead, a Pokemon trainer priming his Poke Ball for a battle. If you want, you can head north-east through the tall grass to meet him.
Alternatively, you can go directly east through the tall grass, towards an area of short grass, which will allow you to avoid battle. Here, you can find a Great Ball on the floor. Afterwards, you can head north through the other patch of tall grass to return to the main path.
Bellhop Jody¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Drifloon | 14 | Ghost/Flying |
This ghostly balloon can be taken out with a variety of means. Namely Dark, Ghost, Electric, Ice and Rock-type moves. You must surely have at least one or two Pokemon with access to those moves by now.
Moving on, follow the dirt trail north towards a slope leading up a hill. Before going up the slope, head east along the narrow path and inspect the rock at the end of the road for a Tiny Mushroom . Take care not to inhale the spores…
After ascending the slope, there will be a trainer staring north. She’s not looking for a battle, so grab the Zygarde Cell (4) to her south, by the edge of the outcrop, then continue along your way. West from her is some more tall grass. Enter it to find a trainer waiting on the other side.
If you’re the pacifist type, you can avoid his gaze by entering the tall grass from its north. Behind the trainer is a Revive .
Collector Bryan¶
Bryan has two rare Pokemon found on Melemele Island. Munchlax is best approached with Fighting-type Pokemon or Pokemon with good Attack and physical moves. Otherwise you’ll find he’s rather tanky.
Bagon is a Dragon-type and thus weak to Ice and Fairy moves. You probably don’t have any of the former, but Popplio, Cottonee (Sun) and Cutiefly may know some. If you have none, you’ll do fine as long as you don’t use Fire, Water, Grass and Electric moves.
Next, carry on following the trail north and up the small slope ahead. Past here, there’s a trainer pacing around along the upper route and emptiness along the bottom route. Take on the trainer if you want; also, inspect the north-west side of the central grass mound for a Dire Hit .
Afterwards, head for the bottom route and leap off the ledge. Grab the Adrenaline Orb in the corner, then wade through the tall grass to return to the main path.
Sightseer Scotty¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Rattata | 14 | Normal |
This ought to be a familiar sight for some. Scotty is using a standard Rattata, not found in Alola. Unlike its Alolan variant, this Rattata is a plain old Normal-type and thus easy pickings for your Fighting Pokemon. It’s also pretty dang weak, so anything will get the job done.
Further east, you should start to see Paniola Town in the distance. When you reach the base of the hill, you’ll be welcomed by tall grass and a trainer looking fight for a fight towards the east. With patience, you may be able to sneak by him, but we ain’t got time for that!
Cook Ernie¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Cutiefly | 14 | Bug/Fairy |
Keep your Grass, Psychic, Dark and Dragon Pokemon away as this tiny bug can potentially cause a lot of damage. Instead, try to roast it with Fire, batter it with some Rocks or pour some Poison on it. Silverware or Steel is good too. Er, why does it sound like we’re cooking the poor thing?
East from Ernie is the entrance to Paniola Town. Before heading in, there are two more things you can do. First, go south through the tall grass to retrieve an Energy Root . Next, head east from the entrance to find a berry pile. Careful in case a Crabrawler is feeding. That’s all for here.
