"Luvdisc" IconLuvdisc Water Fishing (70%)
"Wishiwashi" IconWishiwashi Water Fishing (10%)
"Gyarados" IconGyarados Water/Flying (SOS only) Possible ally Pokemon for "Magikarp" IconMagikarp
"Mareanie" IconMareanie Poison/Water (SOS only) Possible ally Pokemon for "Corsola" IconCorsola

After much struggle, you’re approaching the end of your time at Akala Island. From the entrance to "Diglett" IconDiglett’s Tunnel, head south-west past the police station. Well, you can look inside if you want, but there’s nothing to see besides a grumpy officer on a break.

Past the station is an officer who’s out for a battle, however. Or if you’re afraid of the law, you can literally sneak behind him, from the police station direction.

Police Officer Haruki

Pokemon Level Type
"Growlithe" IconGrowlithe 24 Fire

Take down this mutt with your prized Water, Rock or Ground Pokemon. It has Intimidate, which lowers your Attack stat by one stage, so use special moves if possible.

Past the officer is a crossroads of sorts. Continue south-west to reach the ocean’s edge. Towards the south is a fisherman that you can interrupt for a battle. To his east is a Net Ball , handy for any fisherman. To the far west is an X Accuracy hidden among the rock.

Fisherman Mike

Pokemon Level Type
"Chinchou" IconChinchou 23 Water/Electric

A fish Pokemon with a peculiar and rather interesting Type combination. Grass Pokemon are the safest to use, although "Dartrix" IconDartrix users should be somewhat wary of "Chinchou" IconChinchou’s Electric moves.

That’s technically all there is to see on this route. Pretty short, huh? Head back up the slope and continue north-west through the big gates to reach the next town.

Konikoni City

A small town with lots to see.

An exquisite oriental-themed town. As soon as you enter, there are a plethora of shops and stalls ahead. Let’s take a gander, systematically, shall we?

Along the west side, starting from the bottom, we have the incense shop run by a Lass. The most interesting purchase here is probably the Pure Incense, which drives away wild Pokemon if your lead Pokemon is holding it. Handy for exploring. You’ll get the Cleanse Tag soon though.

Next we have the massage shop run by a Dancer. She will offer to massage your lead Pokemon, which boosts its friendship, useful for friendship-based evolutions. The service is free, but can only be used once per day.

The third stall is the Technical Machine shop. Here, you can buy some pretty nice TMs for 10,000 Poke Dollars each. Above the TM shop, although technically not a stall, is a Veteran who will check the friendship level of your Pokemon.

Past here is a restaurant run by Mallow’s family. Inside, you can purchase a meal from the counter; each meal will set you back 1,040 Poke Dollars. Pick any meal and you’ll receive 2 Heart Scales at the end.

The building at the end is Olivia’s store. Don’t be shy and go inside. As you enter, Olivia’s "Probopass" IconProbopass will give you a letter, informing you that your grand trial will be held at the Ruins of Life. You will also get a free Max Potion .

While you’re here, you can speak to the lady at the front counter to buy common evolution stones. Meanwhile, the woman by the side will let you buy one of two Pokemon Fossils for 7,000 Poke Dollars, the type depending on if you’re playing Sun or Moon.

You can buy both fossils, but only one of each. After acquiring a fossil, you can take it to the man at the Fossil Restoration Centre on Route 8 to instantly revive it into a Pokemon. How very Jurassic Park. If used well, Tirtouga and Archen are solid choices.

Although it might not be obvious, you can actually head upstairs from the Probopass. Nope, it’s not blocking the way. Upstairs, you’ll find Olivia’s room. Hmm, it sure is something… Head for the far end to discover a "Zygarde" IconZygarde Core (3) , which teaches Dragon Dance to Zygarde.

Back outside, let’s check out the other side of the street–the east side. Going from the bottom, there’s the Barber’s, the Apparel Shop, a Hiker selling herb items and finally the wonderful Pokemon Centre at the end. Definitely give the Pokemon Centre a visit.

Inside, the Preschooler near the cafe area wants to trade her "Poliwhirl" IconPoliwhirl for your "Zubat" IconZubat. Um, this is a pretty lop-sided trade if there ever was one. By the Poke Mart, there’s an Aether Foundation Employee who wants to see a "Passimian" IconPassimian or "Oranguru" IconOranguru from the Lush Jungle.

That’s the front of town; there’s still a bit more to see. From the Pokemon Centre, head north-west towards the building in the far corner. This is Lana’s house. Actually, there’s nothing to do here right now, but you can check inside if you’re curious.

Nevermind the favouritism, Volt Tackle is great for Raichu.

Next, head north-east from Lana’s house. Past the oriental-style gate is an area with a spectacular view of the ocean, the Lighthouse Point. Carry on to the far end where the group of "Pikachu" IconPikachus are. Chat to the lady nearby to receive Pikachu’s Z-Crystal, Pikanium Z .

If Pikachu (not "Pichu" IconPichu or "Raichu" IconRaichu) is holding this, it will trigger a unique Z-Move if you use Volt Tackle. Not all Pikachus have Volt Tackle though, but if you speak to the lady again, she will offer to teach Volt Tackle to your Pikachu (again, not Pichu or Raichu). Pika please!

While you attempt to wrap your head around this blatant favouritism for Pokemon’s legendary mascot, go behind the benches on the right to discover an Eviolite in the corner. Give this to a Pokemon yet to evolve to bolster its defences. But it must be able to evolve.

If it’s night, there will be a Zygarde Cell (29) between the Pikachus and the amusing sign. …And you’re all done here! To reach the Ruins of Life, exit back to Route 5, then head south-east towards the next area.
