There’s just a little bit more of Route 3 to explore before it’s all wrapped up. From the entrance to Melemele Meadow, head south to where Kukui was standing firmly above the bridge. The Prof isn’t there anymore, so cross the bridge to the other side.
Immediately to the right is a Pokemon trainer pacing up and down. You should probably let him know you’re here.
Rising Star Joshua¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Growlithe | 13 | Fire |
A Fire-type to complete the triangle. Popplio users will rejoice, while Rowlet users should watch out. Water-types like Slowpoke or Wingull are recommended, but other Pokemon that aren’t weak to Fire should be OK.
Moving on, follow the dirt trail south. To the right, next to a big rock is a Super Potion on the floor. Eventually, you’ll reach the end of the slope. From here, if you head north-east, you’ll find a patch of tall grass and, beyond, a pile of berries.
To the east of the berry pile is a Nest Bal l lying precariously at the cliff’s edge. Continuing south will take you to the exit. Towards the right is a tourist who wants to see a Rockruff. If you catch one from Ten Carat Hill, come back to receive 3,000 Poke Dollars .
Well, that’s everything for this route. Sort of… Now that you’ve beaten all the trainers here, you can challenge the trainer south of the Melemele Meadow entrance.
Ace Trainer Makana¶
This smartypants has the Red Card item on his Pokemon. Hitting such a Pokemon will automatically make your Pokemon switch to a random one. To make matters worse, Rockruff will use Stealth Rock, which causes residual damage each time you switch a Pokemon in.
Both Rockruff and Slowpoke are weak to Grass-type moves, so a Pokemon with those moves will be stellar here. Otherwise, Water, Ground or Steel-types will sort out Rockruff, while Slowpoke will not like Electric or Dark-types at all.
Win and you’ll receive the Red Card for yourself. Once you’ve finished all your business here, continue south to exit Route 3 back to Route 1. From here, you should know your way back to Iki Town, right? (You need to head west.)
