Following the incident with "Eternatus" IconEternatus, three in-game days will have passed. You’ll regain control back at The Rose of the Rondelands in Wyndon. Exit the hotel and make your way to Wyndon Stadium. The quickest way is probably via flying taxi. When you arrive, sign yourself up at the front desk to begin the final battle. Without further ado, let’s finish what we started!

Champion Leon

Pokémon Level Type
"Aegislash" IconAegislash 62 Steel/Ghost
"Dragapult" IconDragapult 62 Dragon/Ghost
"Haxorus" IconHaxorus 63 Dragon
"Seismitoad" IconSeismitoad (if you picked "Grookey" IconGrookey) 64 Water/Ground
"Mr. Rime" IconMr. Rime (if you picked "Scorbunny" IconScorbunny) 64 Ice/Psychic
"Rhyperior" IconRhyperior (if you picked "Sobble" IconSobble) 64 Ground/Rock
"Cinderace" IconCinderace (if you picked "Grookey" IconGrookey) 64 Fire
"Inteleon" IconInteleon (if you picked "Scorbunny" IconScorbunny) 64 Water
"Rillaboom" IconRillaboom (if you picked "Sobble" IconSobble) 64 Grass
"Charizard" IconCharizard 65 Fire/Flying

As the final trainer, Leon is no slouch. His Pokémon are much higher Level than the previous trainer, Raihan’s, and his team is extremely well-rounded. If you’re worried, consider going back to the Wild Area to train and catch some killer Pokémon. You could also add Eternatus to your team–it might seem unfair, but where else are you gonna use it?

"Aegislash" IconAegislash is the first hurdle. This fully evolved "Honedge" IconHonedge can use King’s Shield to protect itself and lower the Attack of Pokémon that use contact moves. For attacks, it has STAB Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon, plus Sacred Sword to smite Dark-types. Fire and Ground-types are the safest choice.

Next, he may send out "Dragapult" IconDragapult (although the order can be very different). This fully evolved "Dreepy" IconDreepy is exceptionally fast and its damage output is nothing to sneeze at. For STAB, it has Dragon Breath and Shadow Ball; otherwise, it has Flamethrower and Thunderbolt for coverage. Use a Dark or Fairy-type if you can.

He also has a "Haxorus" IconHaxorus, another Dragon. Compared to Dragapult, it’s far slower but can inflict greater damage. It can use Outrage for STAB, Poison Jab to punish Fairy-types, Iron Tail to shatter Ice-types and Earthquake to wreck Steel-types. So long as they have full health, strong Ice or Fairy-types should work.

Leon’s next two Pokémon depend on which starter you chose at the very start.

If you picked "Grookey" IconGrookey, he can send out "Seismitoad" IconSeismitoad (a fully evolved "Tympole" IconTympole) and "Cinderace" IconCinderace (a fully evolved "Scorbunny" IconScorbunny). For the former, use your starter for an easy win. Otherwise, any Grass-type will suffice. For Cinderace, you’ll want to rely on a Water, Ground or Rock-type.

If you were a Scorbunny fan, he may send out "Mr. Rime" IconMr. Rime (an evolved Galarian "Mr. Mime" IconMr. Mime) and "Inteleon" IconInteleon (a fully evolved "Sobble" IconSobble). Again, the first Pokémon is weak to your starter or you can use Fire, Rock, Steel, Dark or Ghost-types. For Inteleon, Grass-types are recommended, although Electric could also work.

If you became friends with Sobble, he’ll send out "Rhyperior" IconRhyperior (a fully evolved "Rhydon" IconRhydon) and "Rillaboom" IconRillaboom (a fully evolved Grookey). Send out your fully evolved Sobble to KO Rhyperior–or any strong Grass or Water-type should do (ideally a special attacker). Then counter Rillaboom with a Flying or Bug-type.

Leon’s final Pokémon is obviously his "Charizard" IconCharizard; he’ll also Gigantamax it straight away. The attacks you need to watch out for are G-Max Wildfire (Fire), plus the Grass, Flying and Rock Max Moves. If you’re confident, go for a strong Water-type; otherwise, we recommend a fast Electric-type.

Stand your ground against Leon’s blazing assault and you’ll be crowned the greatest trainer in the Galar region: the Champion! Congratulations! Now go and grab the popcorn, because you’ve got the credits to watch. Afterwards, you’ll return to the title screen; if you continue from here, you’ll be brought back to your house in Postwick, ready to explore Galar once more.
