Pokémon: Sword & Shield

Hulbury

Hulbury is a seaside town, so it’s a natural fit for the Water-type Gym.

When you arrive here from Route 5, the Pokémon Center will be nearby on the right. How convenient! If you need to, go inside to rest up your Pokémon and stock up on supplies. Next, head right from the Pokémon Center. Before you can get far, you’ll bump into a crowd gathered around Chairman Rose, who’s traveling here incognito (but pretty badly).

Once they’re all gone, continue going right for a moment. You should see the seafood restaurant, where Oleana is waiting. After defeating Gym Leader Nessa, you’ll want to come back here. If you want, you can follow the road east from the restaurant. But we recommend going south, down the nearby steps. You’ll arrive at the local market.

Go south towards the picnic benches. Sitting on the left-hand side bench is a woman who wants to trade her "Cottonee" IconCottonee for your "Minccino" IconMinccino. You can catch plenty of Minccino back on Route 5. Meanwhile, it’ll probably be a while before you can catch a Cottonee. Also, it’s a Grass (and Fairy) type, so it could be helpful for the Water Gym, just around the corner.

In any case, go past the lady and retrieve the Magnet in the nearby corner. Next, go over to the market talls along the top of this area. The blonde-haired lady on the left is the Incense Merchant. She shells a variety of fragrance-related hold items. Of the bunch, the Luck Incense could be worth investing in, as it doubles your prize money. But you’ll get an equivalent item fairly soon.

(1 of 2) This hold item enhances the power of Electric moves.

Meanwhile, the breeder on the right is managing the Herb Shop. Here, you can buy potent medicine, but they will make your Pokémon less happy. There’s little reason to do so, but if you’re careless during battle, you could buy some Revival Herbs. After looking around, go directly south from the Herb Shop. Search the slightly smashed up fence to uncover a hidden X Sp. Def.

Now go east back onto the main road. If you follow the road up the incline, you’ll be back at the seafood restaurant. Meanwhile, if you try to follow it downloads, you’ll reach the entrance to Galar Mine No. 2, except a rowdy hooligan is blocking the way. Instead, go right, down the steps to where the boats are moored. Head north along here to find a Shell Bell.

Return to the main road, then follow it up. Keep going until you’re back where you were, between the seafood restaurant and the Pokémon Center. Now head north, past the row of houses. If you’re curious, you can go inside and take a peek. After a while, the road will start bending towards the east. Around here, there are steps going up on the left. Search between the last house and the steps for a Full Heal.

Next, go up the steps. There are two houses up here. Go past them to reach the train station. Before you enter the train station, search the lamp post besides the bench to discover 2 X Speeds. If you go inside the train station, you can travel back to Wedgehurst, the Meetup Spot or Motostoke. That said, you could just call the Flying Taxi to get there faster.

Net Balls are great for catching Water and Bug-type Pokémon.

Retrace your steps until you’re back on the main road, then follow it north-east, towards the stadium. Right now, the Gym Leader isn’t at the stadium though. Instead, continue east, then down the steps. Immediately on your left is a plank bridge. Go across it to reach a fishing platform. Perfect for some quality fishing time! You can even find 5 Net Balls along the bottom.

After you’ve had your fun, go back across the bridge, then head east. Along the way, there’s a pair of bins. Search to the right of the bins to find 2 Super Potions that are still perfectly usable. Carry on east to find the lighthouse. By now, you should spot Nessa standing next to the fence, staring at the sea. Speak to her and she’ll return to her Gym. You’ll also receive Nessa’s League Card.

While you’re here, go into the space on the right of the lighthouse. The camera should change. Pick up TM82 Electroweb hidden here. That’s everything to see here. Once you’re prepared, go back and check the stadium.
