Pokémon: Sword & Shield

Introduction

Never again…

Welcome to what is probably the most soul-crushing part of the Isle of Armor, especially for completionists. When you reach the bridge that leads to the Master Dojo, you’ll be roped into rescuing 150 Alolan "Diglett" IconDiglett that have gone AWOL (151 if you count the initial one). These pesky things are hiding everywhere, but not inside buildings–only in the wild open.

You can identify Diglett by the tip of their brown heads, as well as their iconic three stands of hairs (or whiskers). Once you’ve discovered a Diglett, you need to go right up close to them, then press the A button to uncover them. There is no button prompt, so you can’t accidentally stumble upon them–you’ll need to use your eyes.

Rewards

Of course, you’ll be rewarded for rescuing the sneaky things–and the rewards are pretty spiffy as well. You can obtain Alolan form Pokémon, which debuted in Sun and Moon, plus Kantonian (original) forms of Pokémon with Galarian forms. All of these Pokémon have their Hidden Ability too!

Tips

After finding a Diglett, the game will tell you how many Diglett remain in your current zone. This is useful so you know when to stop looking. If you’ve forgotten how many remain, you can check the small signboard to the left of the Diglett owner. It will provide information on the remaining Diglett in all 16 zones.

If possible, we highly recommend focusing on discovering all the Diglett in one zone, before proceeding to the next. That way, you don’t need to go back to previous zones and try to remember which ones you’ve already found. Also, avoid looking for Diglett in poor weather conditions, such as rain or sandstorm. Standard or sunny weather is best.

In Sword and Shield, you explore the Galar region, based on the United Kingdom, alongside rivals Hop, Bede and Marnie, with the aim to dethrone the Pokémon League Champion.
