This page will detail how to start and complete the In the Dead of Night Favor in The Plains of Vanaheim in God of War Ragnarok.
Where to Start In the Dead of Night¶
Before you even think about starting this, you will need to have access to The Plains, which requires you to complete the main quest, Creatures of Prophecy. Once you do, head to Freyr’s Camp and look by the one exit to start Scent of Survival, which will bring you to The Crater. At that location, follow the steps provided on the How to Reach The Jungle, then complete the Favor, Return of the River. This will flood the canyons in The Plains, allowing you to some new areas, including where this Favor is located.
Row your boat to the northern end of The Jungle and look for a small tunnel to squeeze through, where Kratos and his companion will have to duck. This little tunnel connects to The Plains, so that’s a good start. There will be a small island with an Yggdrasil Rift and you will need to head west of there to find another shore on which to dock. As soon as you dock there, move forward and this Favor will automatically be triggered.
Dreki Boss Fight in The Plains¶
Once you drop into the pit, you will be facing a Dreki, although thankfully, it’s just one. This Dreki will be poisonous, and seems to borrow some of the new attacks that the others haven’t had up to this point. In addition to the other attacks, it can shoot off four little poison blobs that will create poison pools in front of it. You will want to just dodge away from the beast whenever it does this, as just standing in the pools will inflict poison on Kratos. Another move it can do is spew a stream of poison straight at you. Thankfully, this entire attack can be blocked, which is a good thing, as the creature will track you with it.
The arena here can be a bit deceptive, too, since it looks bigger than it is. The little lake in the middle cannot be traversed, so you essentially have a giant ring for the arena. This can be both good and bad, since if you’re not paying attention and are trying to run away, you’ll get stuck on something. However, you can also use it to your advantage to get some breathing room by running to the opposite side, allowing yourself time to heal, for example.
Whenever you finish off the Dreki, loot your spoils and you’ll be finished with this Favor.
