This page will detail how to start The Lost Lindwyrms Favor in God of War Ragnarok. It will also give the locations of all the Yggdrasil Rifts that give you a Lindwyrm.
How to Start The Lost Lindwyrms Favor in God of War Ragnarok¶
You won’t be able to start this Favor until you have complete the main quest, The Word of Fate. Once you have done that, return to Sindri’s House and you can head on over to Ratatoskr, who will have a new Favor for you to do. However, you should wait until you have acquired the Draupnir Spear during the main quest, Forging Destiny, as it’s pretty much required to get them all. You won’t be able to actually finish the Favor until after finishing Creatures of Prophecy, though.
Ratatoskr realizes that Nidhogg is dead, but the problem is that all of its offspring, the Lindwyrms, seem to be missing. There are six of these and the squirrel wants you to hunt them down using a special trap. Make sure you grab the trap before leaving Sindri’s House, as you won’t be able to do this Favor without it. Thankfully, all of the Lindwyrms are in Yggdrasil Rifts, found throughout both Svartalfheim and Vanaheim. However, two of them will require you to progress through the main story a bit more.
All Lost Lindwyrm Locations in God of War Ragnarok¶
Where to Find the Lindwyrm in The Forge in Svartalfheim¶
The first Lindwyrm can be found not too long after acquiring the Draupnir Spear. During your way back from The Forge, you will arrive at a spot where you need to actually use your spear. Basically, there are wind vents coming out of the way in plenty of spots throughout the game, with a number of them being seen before you even had access to the weapon. Listening to Brok during this segment, you will throw the spear at the wall to get an extra foothold, allowing you to reach a higher ledge. If you don’t pay full attention to surroundings, there is another wind vent a little higher up, and to the left, of the first one.
Climb up the first spear, then use the second (higher) one to jump the gap and reach the Yggdrasil Rift with the Lindwyrm. Note that if you’re doing this later on, then you will need to go from the Nidavellir Beach gateway, and take the train thing back up to The Forge. From there, pass through the main gate and use the big lift to get back up to this area. Once you arrive at where you got out of the water with the forge Lady, you can just retrace your steps back, as if you were leaving this place for the first time.
Where to Find the Lindwyrm in Alberich Hollow in Svartalfheim¶
Alberich Hollow is a completely optional area in Svartalfheim, located to the north of Dragon Beach, which is north of Nidavellir. Once you have the spear, head back and set sail for Dragon Beach. Find the chain here and climb up it, then look for the wind vent on the one side. Use your spear on the vent to get to the upper ledge, then follow the trail until you reach the large Dwarven statue with the large hammer. If you’re doing The Lost Treasure and/or Spirit of Rebellion favors, then you will be going this way during them.
There will be a cave tunnel off to the side, which is Alberich Hollow. Continue through it, using the fire bombs to clear debris and defeating enemies, until you run into a miniboss named Ormstunga. Defeat the miniboss, then look for a small ledge you can climb on the side, which is where you will find the Yggdrasil Rift and Lindwyrm.
Where to Find the Lindwyrm in Alberich Island in Svartalfheim¶
Alberich Island, not to be confused with Alberich Hollow, is the northernmost island in the Bay of Bounty in Svartalfheim. Upon setting foot there, you will find a wind vent to the right of the Berserker Gravestone, so toss the spear to get to the ledge above it. Follow the path and destroy the Soundstone to the left, then go down that trail to the end. Look for a rock with a wind vent across from you, near the water, and toss a spear over to it, detonating it to get the geyser flowing and the lift moving. Grapple across to a wooden platform to find the Yggdrasil Rift and the Lindwyrm.
Where to Find the Lindwyrm in The Applecore in Svartalfheim¶
To get to The Applecore after your first visit, head to the Mystic Gateway in Aurvangar Wetlands. Move forward a bit and take the left path to a ferry, which will bring you to Sverd Sands. At the end of this area will be a lift to take down to The Applecore. Follow the path inside, down a tunnel, and at the end will be a wind vent. If this is your first time back here, then you should encounter two Revenants along the way. Use the spear to access the ledge above, then take a left at the fork here, grappling across and straight onto a climbable wall. You should drop into the room where you found Tyr during the main story early in the game.
Crawl through the tunnel to get out of this room, then exit via the door. Look to the side after leaving through the door to find a ledge you can shimmy across, leading you to a grapple point across a small waterfall. Follow this down and jump off to a lower ledge at the first opportunity. Hop across the gap and go underneath the wooden waterway. As soon as you emerge, turn left and grapple across, then up the next ledge, before passing through the door to your left. There will be a wind vent in this room, so toss your spear at it and use it to cross to the other side. The Yggdrasil Rift with the Lindwyrm will be here.
Where to Find the Lindwyrms in The Plains in Vanaheim¶
There will be two Lindwyrms found in The Plains area, which cannot be gotten to until you clear the main story quest, Creatures of Prophecy. Once that is out of the way, there will be a short Favor you can begin in Freyr’s Camp. Scent of Survival is the name, where you need to follow Helka. Eventually, you will reach a cliff’s edge and after a cutscene, you will end up in The Crater section of Vanaheim, specifically The Plains. You are able to change the time of day via the altars here, although they may not be needed for one of them. The other Yggdrasil Rift will require you to change the time of day, though.
Where to Find the First Lindwyrm in The Plains in Vanaheim¶
The first Lindwyrm will be found north of where you first drop into the area. If you’re having trouble reaching this spot, find an altar and turn the time of day into night, although it is right next to a Celestial Altar. As you head north, you should see a ledge on the right that doesn’t appear to have a way up to it normally. There will be some Seidr up here trying to pelt you with their magic. A little south of them, there will be some circular archways in an area you drop down to; if it’s night, there will be two Wisps here.
Pass through the archways and immediately turn left to find a ledge where you can grapple up to, right before a zipline. This will put you in the area with the Seidr enemies, as well as a blacksmith station. On the ledge above the Mystic Gateway, drop down, then do so once more to find the Yggdrasil Rift with the Lindwyrm.
Where to Find the Second Lindwyrm in The Plains in Vanaheim¶
If you’re doing the For Vanaheim Favor here in The Plains, then you will be able to get right to where the Yggdrasil Rift is for this one. However, you will have to face a boss before the Rift appears, the Crimson Dread, which is part of the above Favor. For more information on how to get to that area, visit the For Vanaheim! page. After defeating The Crimson Dread, go to the north end of the area to find the rift and the Lindwyrm.
Once you have caught all six Lindwyrms, return to Sindri’s House and summon Ratatoskr. Drop off the trap on the bench to return all of the Lindwyrms, then speak to the squirrel to finish the Favor. You will also unlock the Rightful Place trophy after completing this favor.
