The Treasure of Sharksmouth Quest Location

You won’t be able to unlock this quest until you reach the later stages of Act 2, once you have access to and complete the majority of Taash’s companion quests. The "Lair of the Dragon King" iconLair of the Dragon King specifically, is the one you’re looking for, during it you’ll unlock the other half of the Rivain region and, once the quest is complete, you’ll be able to undertake this one.

There are two ways to start this quest properly, the first is to heading to the vault door and examining the plaque on the side of the wall, this can be found at the top of the Lava Caves, just before you fought the dragon in Lair of the Dragon King. Alternatively, you can find one of the clues scattered throughout the Lava Caves and it will begin the quest following it.

You can begin the quest by alternatively finding a clue in the Lava Caves.

Treasure of Sharksmouth Mountain Statue Puzzle

The riddle outside the door reads as the following:

Four knights rode to battle.

One fired unto the rightward flank, her arrows a steel rain.

One lingered, their shield behind to guard all’s back.

One went boldly to the fore, her sword thrust forward unto the foe.

One crept upon the leftward flank, his hammer a harvest reaped.

This is referring to what direction you need to turn the statues in the building to the north of the tower door. While you can find the clues, it is entirely optional and you can solve the puzzle without it, the clues just inform you what name (found on the plaques by each statue) refers to what line.

When you’re ready to solve the puzzle, make your way to the room with the statues (just outside where you fought the dragon in Lair of the Dragon King) and rotate them in the following order:

  • Dheon: North
  • Ifean: South
  • Cruach: West
  • Rian: East

(1 of 2) Rotate the statues so they face these directions.

Rotate the statues so they face these directions. (left), This will open the treasure room nearby and allow you to claim two regular chests and an unique chest. (right)

If you rotated them successfully (check the screenshots above for more help), they’ll lock into the place, leave the building the same way you came in and you’ll find some stairs leading down in the corner, take them to reach the treasure room with two regular chests and a unique chest.

There you have it; you now know where to find the statues for the "Treasure" iconTreasure of Sharksmouth Mountain quest and how to solve the puzzle to unlock the door of the tower where the treasure awaits.
