The Labs Below is a side quest that can be found within the Crossroads during the Into The Crossroads Main Quest. This side quest will involve you viewing one of Solas’ Memories. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to escaping the prison.

The Labs Below Starting Location¶

Once you’ve arrived at the Crossroads during the Into The Crossroads Main Quest, take the boat over to the Converged City and head south until you come across a large open area, then take the eastern path and slide down the slope to trigger The Labs Below Side Quest!

Escape The Prison¶

This area will provide you with the perfect opportunity to witness how Sola’s team managed to infiltrate Ghilan’nain’s Lab. Head down to the bottom and speak with Tarasahl, then proceed through the double doors. Here you’ll need to attempt to escape the prison, so destroy all of the nearby blight boils to prevent the enemies from respawning, then take care of all enemies in the area. The best way to do this is to utilize combo attacks when they’re available and then keep your distance and use ranged attacks (Rogue: Bow, Mage: Staff and Warrior: Shield Throw) as a lot of these enemies will explode upon death.

Once you’ve cleared out the enemies go through the next door and take a left to find The Mother of Halla Memento, then backtrack head up the stairs. In the next room, move the statue in the middle to open specific doors around the room and then enter the room to shoot the blight boils. After you’ve destroyed all of the boils, head through the door and up the stairs in the northwest, then clear the next group of enemies. However, two of these enemies will have yellow shields, so you’ll need to use heavy attacks to remove it before you can start dealing proper damage.

The Labs Below Choice Outcome¶

If you don’t feel like their health is dropping quick enough, then you may want to consider hitting their elemental weakness by equipping and using fire-based spells. Once these fiends have been dealt with, head up the stairs and clear out another group to trigger a cutscene, then you’ll have to choose between “He won’t help her” and “Solas, try a cure”. This choice won’t change the outcome of any of the game’s storylines, so you can safely base your choice on what you think is right!

The Labs Below Quest Rewards¶

After the cutscene, pick up the Wolf Statuette which is located to the left of the stairs to bring the quest to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 500 XP, Watcher’s Robes, +10 Etheric Remnant, +50 Veil Jumpers Strength and Companion Bond Increase.
