After tailing the Venatori spy and the Antivan Crow turncoat on two different occasions you’ll discover that the two are, despite their political differences, secret lovers and their meetings have nothing to do with the goals of their respective factions. It would almost be charming, if one wasn’t a vile cultist and the other a cutthroat assassin. Neither the Venatori or the Crows are likely to be keen about this fraternization, however genuine it may be, and both have been tracking the couple - the Crows, of course, using Rook to handle the groundwork. Should either faction catch up to them, the outcome is likely to be less than romantic. This page will cover the side quest Lethal Devotion in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Starting Lethal Devotion¶
You can only start this quest if you complete Partners in a Dangerous Crime by not warning the two lovers, instead heading back to The Cantori Diamond and speaking to Chance Candide directly. Upon this he’ll tell you that the Venatori are planning an ambush - one that the Crows seek to counter. With Rook’s help, of course.
Defeat the Venatori Ambush¶
Fast travel to the Heart and Central beacon to the east of The Cantori Diamond and cross the bridge to the east, heading towards the Dellamorte Estates. Once you arrive you’ll find that violence has already broken out, and some Crows will assist you at range… more as a cosmetic consideration than anything else. You’ll need to put down two Elite Venatori Centurions, an Executioner and two mages - as you engage you’ll overhear the tragic end of Pearl and Sable’s doomed romance.
Defeat your foes, then return to Chance Candide at The Cantori Diamond and he’ll comment on the affair before giving you another reward, including 500 EXP, 200 Gold, 5x Fade-Touched Crystal and +50 Antivan Crow Strength. A very similar reward to the last quest - effectively doubling the reward if you don’t mind a tragic outcome on your conscience. Then again, maybe a blood-magic using, demon-worshipping, Tevinter supremacist and a contract killer don’t deserve happy endings?
If you neglect to warn the lovers about the noose tightening around them, they’ll meet a tragic end, but on the plus side you’ll gain some EXP, gold and Antivan Crows Strength. On the other hand, if you do warn the lovers, the quest Lethal Devotion will never occur. You will, however, get the missive The Gratitude of Lovers, where Sable writes to you to thank you and inform you that Pearl and he are fleeing south to live a peaceful, quiet life together.
