Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Spies Among Us

By
Nathan Garvin

The fugitive elven gods may be warped, blighted monstrosities, but they’re not stupid, and have used their power to purchase the allegiance of both the Venatori and the Antaam. As result of this crossover you’ll more frequently find the two working together, and although Venatori have been in Treviso since the beginning of the game - and openly antagonistic with the Crows - their collaboration with the Antaam is more brazen now… and the Venatori might have unexpected allies. This page will include the main quest "Spies Among Us" iconSpies Among Us in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Page Breakdown

Starting Spies Among Us

Complete either main quest "On Deadly Wings" iconOn Deadly Wings or On Blighted Wings, after which you’ll be tasked with recruiting a dragon slayer and a fade expert. Numerous side quests also open up at this time, if you prefer to explore, and a few of these quests - including this one - can be found in Treviso. Search the room to the east of where Viago and Teia dwell in The Cantori Diamond to find the note From the Diary of Chance Candide. Reading it starts this quest.

Find a letter in The Cantori Diamond to start this quest.

Find the Venatori Spies

Exit The Cantori Diamond and use the northern zipline to cross to the northern rooftops. Jump a gap to the east, head through a roofed area and make your way to the area where Treviso darkspawn champion dwells. Venatori usually dwell here, and sure enough you’ll find them infesting these rooftops still - kill them and a Folded Note will appear on some wood on the ground (not necessarily near where any of the Venatori died). Pick it up to discover some juicy intel, then return back to The Cantori Diamond and talk to Chance, who will tell you to seek out Venatori presence in the Drowned District.

(1 of 3) Defeat some Venatori north of The Cantori Diamond,

Search Sunken Treviso for Clues

The next phase of the quest isn’t much of a clue hunt - just head to the three objective markers and pick up the notes you find:

  • A Request to Meet: Fast travel to the southernmost Drowned District beacon, climb a ladder to the north, then go through a window to the west. Turn south to find this note on a balcony.

  • Scrawled Note: From the last note, go east, destroy a boarded up doorway, climb a ladder, and search a table to find this note.

  • An Urgent Reply: Fast travel to the northernmost Drowned District beacon and from there travel east, head south down two flights of stairs, then turn west under a portico to find a door to the north. Search a table inside to find this note.

(1 of 3) Find the first note ion a balcony attached to a building north of the southernmost Drowned District beacon.

Find all three notes and return to Chance to complete this rather short quest. Despite its length, the reward is still your standard side quest fare, including a piece of gear (our mage got a "Contoured Skirmish Jacket" iconContoured Skirmish Jacket) as well as 500 EXP, 200 gold, 5x Fade-Touched Crystal and +100 Antivan Crows Strength.
