Wrongs of Annulment Quest Location

As mentioned above, you’re going to need to wait until you reach the later stages of Act 2 for Taash’s companion quests to become available. The particular quest you’re looking for is "Lair of the Dragon King" iconLair of the Dragon King, a quest that unlocks the other half of Rivain for exploration. Return to the area once the companion quest is complete and head to the Fast Travel on Winding Shoreline, where you first entered Rivain and met Taash for the first time.

Here, you’ll find Rowan, standing alongside a spirit who is begging for your assistance in clearing demons away from three sites and allowing Compassion to help them. Upon agreeing to help, Wrongs of Annulment will start and you can get started on heading to the first site.

Clear Demons at the First Site

The first site is located in an area you’ll most likely be familiar with by now, around the Clifftops on the western side of Rivain. Fast Travel to the Clifftops beacon and head southwest to find the first group of demons. You’ll be fighting three Undead Templars to begin with, all who have an Armor gauge you’ll need to deplete first, so remember to use heavy attacks or any abilities that impact that.

Once you defeat at least one of the Templars, Unquiet Spirits will spawn, giving you a lot of enemies to deal with at once. Of particular note here is the Murdered Mage, who has a Barrier you’ll need to deal with. Despite being the toughest enemy, you should make them your target as they can harm you from range while you work on the other enemies. Once all of them fall, Despair of the Massacred will appear, the main demon at large, and one that can blind you. Remember to keep your distance during these periods until your party returns to you.

Once Despair finally falls, speak to Compassion nearby and they will cleanse the site while giving you the details on what befell the group you just defeated.

Clear Demons at the Second Site

You’ll need to head to the Warden Castle beacon for the next site, still on the western side of Rivain to begin the search for the second site. From the beacon, head north, and then go down to the large opening at the bottom of the Ravine Descent and the next group of enemies will spawn.

This time around, you’ll need to initially take out some Chantry Zealots which are nothing more than simple undead, followed by the Envy of Power demon. This is a demon that uses spinning attacks to assault you quickly, keep your distance when it begins to spin and you should have little trouble defeating it. Once again, after the final enemy falls, find Compassion in the corner and speak to them to cleanse this site.

Clear Demons at the Final Site

The final site is located over in the eastern side of Rivain that unlocks from completing Lair of the Dragon King. The Tide Flats can be found just to the east of your current location, no Fast Travel needed (although there is a Beacon there). Head to the far east of the flats, past the large bones, to trigger a scene and a battle against Arnold Maulrich, Hero of the Chantry, Bane of Apostates.

This acts like a boss encounter, and you’ll have to deal with plenty of spirits that assist him. Arnold is a Superior Undead that’s weak to Necrotic but resistant to Cold, who also has an Armor gauge you’ll need to deal with but can actually be taken down rather quickly at this stage of the adventure. If you have an Ultimate available, use it at the start of this battle and try to hit as many of the spirits alongside Arnold, this should turn things in your favor.

Arnold focuses on using his large shield to block as many of your attacks as possible, so charged Heavy Attacks are the play here (outside of your Abilities). If you’re aggressive enough, you can shut Arnold out of much action himself due to him being rather slow and once he’s down, you can focus on finishing off another Murdered Mage.

(1 of 3) Arnold will attack you at the final site.

Find Compassion nearby one final time so they can express their thanks and the quest will come to an end. As a reward, you’ll obtain 500 XP, 200 Gold, 5 Vhenadahl’s Tears, and +100 Lords of Fortune Strength.
